Maria Furtado of Central Falls, Rhode Island passed away peacefully in her home on October 1, 2021.

Born in Pawtucket, RI, Maria was the daughter of Manuel Gonsalves and Gracinda (Antunes) Gonsalves. She graduated from Central Falls High School and lived her whole life in Central Falls.

Maria was the widow of the late Sonny Guay. She is survived by her daughter, Christina, and her son-in-law Morgan Harris-Warrick, of Brooklyn, NY. She is also survived by her Sister Izabel Alzate and her husband André Demers of Central Falls, her brother Antonio Gonsalves and his wife Suzie of Eagle River, AK and her brother Joseph Gonsalves and his wife Christine of Warren, RI. She is also survived by nieces and nephews Ameth, Alyssa, Joe, Danielle, and Ashley, and a grand-nephew, Ameth Jr.

Maria was devoted to her family and worked tirelessly as a server to put her daughter through school. She then changed careers, working in auditing at Ann & Hope, and in accounts payable at JDR Transportation and New England Motor Freight.

Maria was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visiting hours on Tuesday October 5th from 4 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., followed by a short service, at Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Higginson Ave., Lincoln. Burial will be private.

Flowers are welcome, but if anyone is moved to donate, please direct your donations to a charity of your choice or the American Heart Association.
